In spite of having completed the transmission rebuild, the transmission would still lock up and the engine light would come on, this was the result of a defective shift solenoid I bought. My mechanic ordered the shift solenoid from the Honda dealership at a much higher price, and my transmission has been working perfectly ever since. Please take note While it appears to be a solenoid in the reader, the mechanic said that 9 times out of 10, the transmission is to blame. According to the mechanic, solenoids rarely fail in a Honda transmission since he has been in transmission repair for so many years. Since I am not a transmission specialist, perhaps I would not have had to rebuild my transmission if I had chosen the more expensive solenoid and installed it from the very beginning. At the moment, all I know is that my rebuilt transmission will last a very long time and that my car is running well.
Instead of buying the part from the dealer, I saved a lot of money on this purchase. As my cousin needed help fixing his Honda, this was just the thing. The warranty was a nice extra protection and the part fitted perfectly as well.
Neither the old nor the new filters came with it, so I used The water leaked through the silver parts on the top and the whole thing had to be taken apart to get it out. Got it from autozone for a reasonable price.
I nearly detonated my transmission when the solenoid stopped working even though one of the solonoids was working.
In the event of its installation, the part would not function at all. A resistor check came back as OK, but solenoids would not function when a power source was applied. It should have been obvious that the component was junk from the low price. The supplier will be very reluctant to sell me any more parts in the future.
There was a mistake on my part. I received the part in perfect condition. The shipping as usual was great. It was my fault for ordering the wrong part. I had to send it back.
The wiring was the opposite of the factory part. I went from one code to four after putting it in.
