It's been used! An electrical source could have been connected to this pump, or at least it was used or attempting to be connected

There was bare wire exposed nearly all the way through the wiring. A loose screw was found on the cover plate. A person must have looked inside the electric motor at some point. As a result, I will have to remove the bracket and hammer it back into shape after taking it off. There is no time for me to wait for a replacement pump and I need this sprayer operating right now. This was probably returned to Amazon by a company called Enovations, which is probably the reason it came from them. When I thought I was purchasing a new item, I was confused. You cannot allow this to happen.
