Is there a retainer clip on this spring?
It does not, in fact. The original one with the original spring cage can and should be used again.
Is there a part number for the retainer spring (clip, snap ring, whatever you want to call it) that comes with this? On removal, I tweaked it a tad. ?
Make contact with a transmission parts supplier in your area. Request the retainer that keeps the spring assembly in place in the input drum from Transtar, Whatever It Takes, whoever.

Why don't they include the snap ring in the package? I suppose that's fine, but why can't the snap ring that holds it in place be sold separately?
