* I have an air-cooled VW sand rail with a hydraulic clutch master cylinder and a steel brake line. It only had to be bled once when I was setting it up, and adjusting it was easy as well. It had been sitting all winter, but when I finally got to use it, the only thing I had to do was pump it three times, and it was right where it should be. I recommend that you bleed the slave cylinder thoroughly with the bleeding nipple of the slave cylinder facing upwards so it is almost directly above the master cylinder. If possible, make sure that the slave cylinder is almost directly above the master cylinder. I really like how it gets rid of all the air bubbles. When I bought it I bought a cheap one that only lasted for one ride before blowing hydraulic fluid everywhere. My memory of the brand is that it was purple (can't remember the name). I would discourage anyone from buying a cheap slave cycler.
I bought this item and it started working well until the wing nut adjustment nut froze up and caused it to bind up so badly it would not release. There is a leak of fluid now. Unlike the wing nut, the wingnut is made from very soft metal, such as lead or pot metal. There would have been no problems if the adjuster nut had been better.
It's exactly what I needed.
It was exactly what I needed for my 74 VW sand rail and it worked perfectly.
I just installed it a few weeks ago and it throws liquid. I think it may have been defective.
Worked fine for me.
I'm extremely pleased with this.
