The problem was the length of the link rod that came with the kit - it was incompatible with my 1978 Datsun Compare the length of your old rod carefully and make sure you keep it. My problem was solved by welding the stirrup link to the old one for a couple minutes. Beyond that, it appears to be reasonably well made and does the job for a cheap Chinese cylinder.
