I ordered this clutch fork to replace the clutch return pivot ball in my son's 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ because the bell housing was having issues (turned out to be the clutch return pivot ball as expected) and I was replacing everything else It has been stated by others that it is a good replacement for the original fork, however what I think is that it is not. Despite the fact that it is not as wide as the other one, it is bigger in length. Despite the fact that those two dimensions are out of specification, the item will still function. I received the unit, however, with sockets (where the pivot ball rests and the slave cylinder engages) that did not even have a round shape to them. In the center, there is a sharp interior corner forming a triangular shape. In order to receive a refund, I am returning the item.
All of the components in the bell housing on my 2003 TJ were replaced. The clutch fork on my stock clutch was still in good condition, but I had lost a spring and the pivot ball had been severely worn out. It was only $20 more to replace the remaining part of the fork that wore the pivot ball down, so I decided to replace it as well. The cost of insurance is cheap. The LUK kit 05- should be used with a TJ with the NV3550 The Crown Clutch Release Pivot 52087542, this fork, and the Crown Throwout Fork Spring clip 4338855 will have you up and running in no time.
Added the perfect amount of protection to my Jeep Wrangler TJ from 2004.
I would recommend that you also replace the fork when you are doing the clutch and TOB.
I found this to be a perfect fit for my 2002 TJ. During a recent check, I found that both this spring and the pilot bearing spring had failed. As I was driving down the road, I pressed my clutch so hard that the peddle would not move. It was this loose item that was causing the problem. In order to fix the bell housing, I replaced it all. Considering the Jeep had 175k miles, it was probably due for an oil change.
Don't forget it! In my Jeep, there was a spring retainer that had been chewed away. One was offered for $4 at the dealer. There is a cost of There is a $5 shipping charge on part #4338855, 50 dollars here. Amazon will find that number if you enter it in the Although it had 171000 miles, there was nothing wrong with my stock one, but I had it checked out In addition to the plastic washers for the transfer case, you also need 2 plastic busings for the transfer case linkage, about $2 at the dealer or on this website, part 53004810.
It's TJ 5l. Exactly what we needed for our 2004 TJ with the 2 and a manual transmission.
I found it to be cheap and kept my hands a bit cleaner during installation. In fact, I'm not even sure if it's possible to break a clutch fork.
