If you are going to install this part, you will have to take out the air intake and filter units first. This will reveal As well as removing the cover, you will also have to remove the cylinder that pressed against it. I was able to access this and install it in just ten minutes. I had no problems fitting it into my 1999 Forester L. It takes a little practice to start installing the lip, but once you get started, it goes in just fine.

When I first received the package from the seller, I found it to be empty

The seller sent me an empty package by mistake, so I had to wait longer than expected to receive the boot, but I was successfully able to get it within a reasonable amount of time and the boot itself seemed to be of good.
