A clutch of the same type was installed in my truck from the competition and I had to remove it because of the noise and rattle it produced. Valair's quiet version has proven to be far superior to its competitors as far as noise, rattles, and engagement are concerned. Additionally, I can now run my truck at lower rpms without having to worry about the transmission falling out. As a result of the "Other Clutch," I was forced to drive my diesel truck, pulling 18,000 pounds, like a race car at low speeds, requiring me to drive at lower rpms. Having the Valair clutch is a delightful surprise and change for sure.

A piece of the assembly failed to seal during assembly and another had already been blown open. There is a loud noise with the throwout bearing, but it will break in over time. There was no instruction manual included in the package, so I had to find out what the torque specs were. It was not a direct replacement for the master cylinder in the 2012 Ram 2500, and the clutch safety switch and remote reservoir needed to be mounted using a jumper. Thus far, the clutch has performed well, although I am still in the break-in phase and have not tested it to its full extent.

In addition to my Ram 3500 dually, I tow a 21K fifth wheel with a Ram 3500 dually. Taking this clutch into consideration is your only option. Valiant advertises a power boost, but I found it to be relatively quiet, grabs like stock, and retains more power than they say it will. It's very important that you do a long, thorough test drive that you can really feel any issue. The number one failure in these situations is improper installation. the system does not drive and shift as intended, it probably hasn't been installed properly. It's normal to hear a gear rattle when driving, but that's it.
