They are tapered, so the bolt hole on the tappet block can be aligned directly over the tappet block hole. Tolerable tolerances in manufacturing are provided by the hole clearance on the tappet blocks. The block screws are not tapered, and the holes in the tappet blocks are not tapered. In other words, the block screws can still be slid to one side or the other with all the screws installed but loose. In order to keep everything perfectly in place, these adapters fill the holes in the block tightly.
There seemed to be three in it. A minimum of 2 oil pumps is required to install an HD oil pump
I believe it is compatible with all big v twins

I am pleased with how this tool is made and looks good in my toolbox. Please note, if you are also using an aftermarket cam plate and plan to use them to align an aftermarket Harley oil pump, the taper may not be long enough for the mounting holes. I am in the process of installing a S&W There is a pump and plate, and they cannot reach it.
The alignment tool worked great for my Harley heritage EVO lifter blocks on 93.
Tappet blocks are aligned perfectly to the case when using this tool.
I thought it worked well and looked good, but I did not really need it for this. However, it does make life a lot easier.
