Product Description

Make sure the timing cover is properly positioned relative to your crankshaft to prevent premature seal failure

The LS series engines are compatible with both Generation III and IV of GM

A billet of aerospace-grade, USA-made aluminum is manufactured in Wichita, Kansas

Slide the tool over your crank by sliding on the crankshaft and tighten the bolts and oil pan on the timing cover to align it nicely

Do you know if this is compatible with LT1 crankshafts?

Thanks for getting in touch. This will work with a Gen 5 LT cranksnout. Thanks for letting me know!

Will this work if the seal is in place? What is the other side of it? Are there two of them, one for putting on the cover and one for inserting the seal?

When the seal is in place, the cover is centered over the crankshaft. When the cover is removed, the seal can be installed in it. Changing the seal with the cover on requires different tools. *br> *br>This is not the right tool for the job.

The GM3 should be able to handle this. I have no information to add How does line engines work?

The tool being used here does it also work on the old small-block Chevy engines, or is there a separate tool available for them?

It's an easy and fast way to do it

Applied to an OEM 2000 LS1 timing cover, it worked as it should have since the machining was of the highest quality. From the timing cover, there was no oil leak. It is easier to partially install the crank pulley than to fully install it.

Place the timing cover loosely on the crank, slide it over and through the timing cover in front. Once you have tightened the timing cover, you're Quick and easy.

Though it seems like it could be less expensive, similar versions sell for the same so I think I just am being a bit selfish. The seal will last longer and prevent premature.

I would have liked to have purchased this set with a rear seal as well since it was easy to use and did the job perfect.

This is a fantastic product, I was a little sceptical at first because it is used while the oil seal is in place, but I have not seen a drop of oil coming from the timing cover since I installed these.
