Questions & Answers

How well does it explain how to connect it?

Despite the fact that it may seem like the easiest route and what the product suggests you do, I don't recommend you connect this directly to the starter coil. A number of people who claim to explain melting with high current may be misusing the term. In order to start the car, a fuse socket connector kit would be the best fit in series with the starter relay in the relay box (not the coil of the relay). You can obtain this kit from There may be a way to pull out the fuse box starter relay and connect it back to the socket with these, so you can use this switch to activate the lower current coil in that relay, instead of the higher current coil near You would need to determine your vehicle's relay switch location because some cars may have a switch for powering the relay and some vehicles may always power the starter relay and turn it on by the computer through a ground switch, so you need to find out the relay location. In my system, I use it this way. In addition to that, it's much easier to get to the fuse box relay than the starter coil, so if you know how to do it, this will be much safer. In or near a starter relay switch, whether at the starter or elsewhere, it is recommended that you simply hold the button for as long as necessary for the car to start. In the case that this is failing as some have said after four years There is a chance that if you have to do this five times, it is not designed well and you may want to get a schematic of your fuse box to find out how to operate it. In that case, this will melt and potentially start a fire. It is not designed or intended to be used as a "jumper" that runs from the battery directly to the starter windings. This is a very dangerous application. In summary, most if not all cars go through this sequence Turn the key to start, this supplies current to the starter relay coil in the relay box, that then supplies current to the starter relay coil, which is a much larger coil and relay, and it draws a much higher A large coil on the starter then picks up the final switch that connects the battery to the starter and hundreds of amps are In all cases, the low current causes starters to fail, the starter wingdings in 90% of the time are fine, it's the starter relay contacts that fail. Ideally, you want to wire it IN SERIES with the starter relay in the relay box in order to make the system as safe as possible. If you are unaware of the fuse, do yourself a favor and start with a 10-amp fuse and another 10-amp fuse The switch would need to be wired with 14 gauge wire and a fuse would be inserted in series with it if it doesn't It is well worth your time and money to purchase a subscription from Alldata or Mitchell, they are typically around 26$. Whenever you go to either of those sites, you are bound to see a full fledged car/truck subscription posted free of charge, it is the same as subscriptions they sell, if they post your car or truck, you are lucky.

Is the wire of a certain gauge?

Probably 14 gauge wire - only connect on the control line to the solenoid.

Do you know if there is a 30A fuse inside?

Your question is appreciated, thank you. There is a 30A fuse on the device.

The motor should be turned off from the outside but how do you do that?

This is what I use to test compression, and I have never had a motor start with all the spark plugs removed and the fuel diverted. In any case, you can operate the starter without turning the ignition on if you don't turn it on.

Selected User Reviews For Remote Starter Switch

The LOW voltage switch (small pin) on the starter will help ensure that the starter is turned on at all times
5/5

It follows that It works very well. People with 1 stars reviews don't know how to use the product and therefore give it a 1 star review. In other words, it connects to the low voltage circuit, not the high voltage circuit. It would be unreasonable to expect that a speaker cord would perform as well as a battery cable. For the money, it works well and is of good quality
5/5

You need this unit if you like to work on your engine and need a way to turn the key in order to adjust the timing, etc. It works great and does what it must. With it, I was able to find and set the TDC on my old Ford pickup so I could set the timing. In addition to setting the gap on my points, I also used it to set the gap on the pertronix (yes, I still do not have a Pertronix). Having this tool in the shop is a great idea. Tests can be done with confidence because the materials are solid and the wiring is good. It is possible for some engines to be started using the coil wire in the engine bay, so remember to disconnect it first. If you have this in your hand with the wires dangling by the fan when the motor starts, things can go terribly wrong quickly. Using common sense and being smart will help you.

Setting valve lash to perfection is a life-saver
5/5

I decided to purchase this remote starter switch to make the procedure of setting the valve lash of my classic muscle car with solid lifters easier. I was happy to find that it was so cheap and seemed to be sturdy. I extended the wire length on each lead as my battery is in my trunk, and it worked as expected. It's a lifesaver, and it really saves me a lot of time. I read other reviews that say the switch is difficult to push, but mine isn't. I am pleased with how sturdy it feels and how it clicks when I pull it. It was hooked up incorrectly by others, causing it to melt. One end is plugged into the single S wire on the starter, and one end is plugged into the positive terminal on the battery. It is either hooked up to a solenoid on a Ford or it is hooked up to the remote control. This is a very nice remote switch at a great price. My recommendation is to watch a video explaining how to hook it up or read a guide on how to do so if you're not familiar with how to do so. get a starter and let's get those engines going!.

I find that this product is quite useful and the ECM can be controlled completely without fuel or the ECM
5/5

Most of the diagnostics involve cranking the engine over at length with no fuel or ECM. A probe can also be placed around one of the wires to make it High voltage has been applied to the wires without any problems. Quite pleased with how it turned out. The only caution I would offer when using this tool is this It is dangerous to crank the engine with the car in gear while it is on. The tool can be used to start the car in drive or reverse with a key removed when the car is in park and when the key is removed from the ignition. When using this tool, always make sure the car is in park and the key is away from the ignition. If such a thing were to happen, it would be quite dangerous.

Is of poor quality, melts the first time I use it
3/5

It took a lot of effort for it to crank my one cylinder 420cc riding mower which has a one cylinder engine. I tried using it to start the mower and it had difficulty starting. I thought the remote starter wires were going to catch fire or melt, and if my battery had run out, I thought I would be without power. In reality, the battery was completely A brain dead reviewer rebutted by saying that you need to hook it up to the low voltage side of the battery. No, my Snap On MT 302 remote starter was hooked up the same way as this one and did not catch fire, nor did it melt. I did not even notice any heat coming from the Snap On remote starter. Upon looking at the wires of both remote starters, it is obvious that the Innova is made cheaply and is not worth purchasing. There are some things that you get for your money. The purpose of purchasing this was so that I could use it on my mower while I waited for a new ignition switch to arrive and not worry about it getting lost or damaged despite the fact that it was inexpensive. This pattern is due to the engine never being able to turn over before melting or catching.

I was impressed by the quality and the Owners' Manual that it came with
5/5

It is common for cheap imported goods to fall apart once they arrive Not as bad as this - The construction is sturdy, and the surface is smooth I feel like I will be able to use it for a hundred times. In addition, the owner's manual contains excellent instructions written in a clear manner. This is NOT a Made in China product. Definitely not China, but I do plan to keep my eye out for INNOVA products in the future, and if I see this tool as an indication of all their products in the future, I'll be buying this as well. Thank you for the high-quality product at a price I can afford.

The results were better than I had My 12,000w generator's electric start / solenoid had failed and I was able to start it with this I used this to run a direct current to the starter motor and it worked like a charm! *br>*br>The wire got a teensy bit warm but it was nowhere near enough to cause concern
5/5

It comes with a really solid trigger, too, and requires a good trigger pull to engage - definitely worth having around. When you pull the trigger back far enough, it will not happen by accident. Think of how you'll feel on a firearm trigger. Luckily, things are looking up for us! By mistake, you don't want to pull the trigger on an engine!.

There is no way to supply the starter current with it
5/5

I am pleased with the quality of the remote starter switch and how it works. It has been reported that some of these burners have burned up. Well, the operator has to be smarter than the equipment they are using. As a result, I have found there is a lot of time for the switch, since I have used it to troubleshoot a Ford 8N tractor. As the solenoid and battery wires were hotter than the switch wire, the solenoid and battery wires were not intended to carry starter current they are meant only to power.
