There is no need for it. replacement part, not the key cylinder, so there is no need to replace it with the key cylinder.
As I recall, there was a spring that fitted between the actuator and the bottom retaining plate but I did not require it, so I assume that's the one that goes unused because it could surprise you
Jeep Cherokee 2005 is the model I used it for
There is no doubt that it will fit.

My customer called me because his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee wouldn't start. His Jeep was towed to an independent garage that was uninterested in working on it and then he had it towed to THE JEEP DEALER, where they advised him it would cost $850 plus parts to repair I drove down from Pennsylvania to see him anyway, as I planned to do. In fact, I spent more time removing the plastics than I did changing the The process took less than 30 minutes, cost less than 70 dollars (I bought parts as well as the electronic component) and I didn't even get my hands dirty. I SHAME THE Jeep dealer in Hampton, Virginia that tried to take advantage of a customer!.
A problem had been occurring where I was using the key to turn the engine on, but nothing happened. Everything from the accessories, to the gauges, to the lights will be turned on. Part of the plastic inside of this part is prone to wear out and break, so your vehicle will not start. This part is easy to change and works well again! There hasn't been any issues since it was installed two years ago.
In my 2006 TJ, the starter would not start. After turning the key to the 'on' or 'accessory' position, all the gauges and the radio seemed to be working (that is to say, there was power to them). I tried to start the car using the key but it would not start. Upon verifying that the coil on the starter relay wasn't receiving power, it was replaced. When hot wiring the starter solenoid (at the relay switch terminals), the engine would crank, but it would not fire even when the key was in the ignition and the clutch was pressed. My research led me to buy this part, hoping it would solve my problem, and the solution was indeed successful. Almost anyone can replace this part if they have a set of security torx bits (T10 specifically) and a little You can watch some videos on Youtube that describe how to replace this part precisely.
A problem was resolved with our 06 Jeep Liberty after using the product. The brass tab assembly is the most important thing to keep an eye on. The very first photo in the instructions should be taken into consideration. In the case where the tab is located on the left (wrong) side of the rotating assembly, the lock cylinder will not fit completely in the housing, and you will wonder why it is so hard to get As soon as I realized that I had it wrong, I was able to put it in correctly and fix the "no start" The price is good and the shipping is fast.
Despite being made predominantly of plastic, it has done the job Although most of the one in the car was metal, I would have reused it (the one with the problem was the ignition module), but while removing it I lost a piece. In order for this to work, alignment must be done at Go to You Tube, find a clip on this, and watch The number of them is vast. There is no need for the regular TORX driver, as the security TORX driver (the one with the hole in the end) is needed to remove the two screws holding the device in place.
As a result, the garage I used refused to replace the steering column, and I could not afford the cost of the repair at a It was ordered only after browsing Google, and my mechanic installed it after I convinced him to do so. I am so glad that it worked! This is amazing. It was true that my Google research was correct about what the problem was in the first place and then I actually discovered you had a product that would work. Thank you, I saved a lot of money!.
In case your Jeep will not start and you need to replace the starter, battery, or a dozen other things, this is the first suspicion you must investigate. The following symptoms are common The starter is making no noise at all while the accessories are turning on, but the engine won't turn over. When you turn the key, this cheap piece of plastic turns up the ignition switch (which gives power to the starter from the battery). Chrysler has basically designed an extension that will fail due to its overly complicated nature. The theft company missed out on a few hundred dollars, and it only took me about an hour to replace this mechanism (and a couple days to wait for delivery while doing the start Replacement is easy thanks to the instructions that come with it. No matter how boring they may seem, do not skip the steps Later on, the pain is unbearable.
I parked it at work and then went back to it. home and it didn't start. I tried pushing it, but it wouldn't start. So I parked and drove up a hill, turned it off, and tried to start it I again popped the clutch, and was on my way Upon searching YouTube, I found that a guy by the name of "Brian" had made a very well produced video about the issue. Then, I only had to work for about 10 minutes, and everything was good to go. I appreciate it!.
