This was installed over the weekend because I had some spare time. I can't return it, which is a bummer. It didn't work, so I had a friend who is a professional mechanic come over to double-check my installation after I realized it wasn't working. Everything was executed flawlessly. br>br>Not only did the fog light not work, but neither did the turn signals. After that, I removed it and replaced it with the previous one. br>br>I purchased this because I installed fog lamps on my wife's Jeep and needed a turn signal knob with a fog lamp switch. br>br>Well, that's what I get for putting off the installation for so long. The situation is hopeless.
It's a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee that's being worked on. It didn't work at first. It appeared to be in the right place, but it didn't work. I took it out again and examined it. The pins that slid into the receiver were bent, which I discovered. I'm not sure if it was that way when it was delivered or if it was something I did during installation, but straightening them out fixed the problem. br>Note that there are only three headlight settings here; the Jeep original's 'Auto' setting is missing. br>For some reason, my front windshield wiper now goes off once every time I start my car. stops. Because it had never happened before, I have to assume it has something to do with this part. Honestly, if I'd noticed the 'Auto' missing and the wiper oddity before the return window closed, I would have returned it and tried another one.
Although it functions as expected (for the most part), the quality could be improved. Except for the high beam, installation was a breeze, and all controls functioned as expected. The open position of the high beam must be maintained. It is not possible to set it to high beam and then manually release it.
Stops my dash from flickering, which is a great feature.
When it arrived, the box was well-known for its shoddy packaging. Regardless, the actual part has a poor quality feel to it. When you turn the fog lights on and off, the knob feels like it's going to break every time, and it doesn't work like it should because you have to push the knob back in instead of it just twisting back in.
Well, the installation went smoothly, but I was disappointed with the product's quality; when using the turn signal, I quickly noticed that the arm would not completely center. To get it back to center, I have to give it a gentle push. Please make certain that you order the correct switch. I was SURE I ordered the multi-function switch with automatic headlights, but not this one!.
This unit's installation videos are available online, and it's a breeze to set up - There are only 5 screws to install, and the entire process takes about 10 minutes. My issue is that it worked fine for a few weeks before the left blinker stopped working (I have to manually turn it off by pushing up the handle). So, I'm not sure how good it is overall - Perhaps I should not have gone with the cheapest option (there are other options available online and on Amazon).
This is, I believe, Amazon's lowest price.
