Basically, it controls the compressor coming on and off so that the evaporator coil temperature can be controlled. It is screwed onto the top of the accumulator.
Switches at low pressure are what this is.
In my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, it is mounted on top of the accumulator. The low end of that is what I would consider the norm
As for guessing, I can't give you any advice since I haven't yet installed mine. I apologize for not being able to There is probably someone else out there who understands this better than I do.

You will need to troubleshoot what's causing your air conditioning not to blow The ac relay and starter relay are usually the same, so the very first thing to do should be to open the fuse box under the hood. In the event that this doesn't fix it, short out pins 87 and 30 with a jumper. Upon hearing a click and seeing the compressor pulley engage or spin, your relay and compressor are both in good working order. When jumpered for a moment or two (no longer than it is jumpered) feel if the air is cold inside the car, if it is, you are good on Freon, if not, you need a charge with a can from Reedley's. leaks low on Freon, both of which I found out were caused by a failed Schrader stem seal on the high side, which led to leaks once I removed the plastic cap (simple fix, all you need is It was a simple process having to charge the system with Freon after replacing the valve stem. You do this on the low side, watch some YouTube videos, just be patient and know what your system can handle. Anyway, after I charged it again, the compressor still wasn't activating by itself, so I jumpered pins 87 and 30 again, and there it was. My air conditioning was blowing cold air! As a result, my next step was to remove the pressure switch connectors (one at a time there are high and low pressure switches) and connect them with a paper clip. Sure enough, the compressor kicked on when I connected the low side, and it blew cold air. This is the part I bought, and I was able to get the old one off and put this one on within five minutes! My hope is that this article will help someone get their ac fixed and will prevent them from getting a costly All this cost me under $100, which included a new blower assembly fan (mine had a lot of debris in it and smelled bad, so I replaced it). If you want to try it yourself, you'll be surprised at how easy.
The Ram 1500 I owned in 1998 came with one of these. As long as the vehicle has an air conditioning system, it doesn't matter what size the engine is. There was an issue with the A/C clutch cycling on and off within a fraction of a second (it would turn on and off as soon as the clutch was pushed in). The following are two things that this signifies The old sensor was dead and needed to be replaced after testing, as it was clearly dead. With this sensor, you do not have to evacuate the entire system since it has a threaded shrader valve (like a bike tire). I have now used it for 4 months, and no problems have occurred.
As part of the air conditioning system revamp on my 2000 Jeep, I replaced this switch. This is a good product that works as advertised and has a reasonable price.
The first one I bought last year worked well but this year it isn't working so I ordered one again and hope it will last for at least 2 summers.
Will give 2 stars in regards to first purchase because it didn't last well. Use the car only to go to the supermarket (1 mile). The regimen consists of 4 sessions per.
A 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee was the perfect fit for my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was able to get my AC fully operational again after I reset 0 perfectly.
It was the perfect fit for my Dodge 2001 with Cummins engine. There was a problem with the switch that caused the air conditioning to not work. It was easy to replace and the air conditioner is working well.
The item fits very well. Thank you for providing it to me.
