There are two versions of the Standard Motor Products NS193 clutch switch. There are a lot of people who find this clutch switch to be over priced and not well designed. It is not safe for your car to start if you don't replace it when it fails. Normally, the small plastic cover should be included in the price of the item, however it is not, so you have to pay extra for it. The U-shaped clutch rod can fill with water thrown off by wet roads, splashing under the hood on the clutch rod points downhill. The water then stands inside this plastic tube and corrodes the cheap steel rods and springs inside rendering the clutch inoperative. Over the years, I have replaced 5 or 6 of them in several of my trucks with standard transmissions, but they keep raising the price, it's now This works out to about 73 cents or 68 cents. The Auto Parts Stores charge 98 Prime, so it's still cheaper than the 78 Prime. People are forced to look for cheaper foreign products due to the high cost in the U. S.
