At the moment, I'm not able to check with a multimeter, but it would make sense that it will be open until it is depressed, since voltage is sent to a relay which in turn is used to carry A starter switch ( Key ) must be closed as well as a clutch switch must be closed for the relay circuit to be activated. There is no way to do this if any of the switches are

It turned out to be a starter problem rather than a clutch switch issue, but once the starter had been installed I didn't see the point in taking the clutch switch In an effort to keep the cost of taking my vehicle to a shop or dealership as low as possible, I tried to troubleshoot the problem myself. Almost spent more than I had intended, but it was still worthwhile. The car has 195,000+ miles on it, so sooner or later it would need a new battery.
It is installed on my 2004 Toyota The 7L Extended Cab 4WD is available in a wide variety of sizes. Compared to the dead OEM switch that it replaced, it has a similar look and feel. The OEM looks fine rather than a junky piece of hardware, and I usually try to use OEM for everything.
It would not be recommended.
Despite the fact that I did not need it, I installed it because I thought it would help my no start when it was cold. I kept it because I didn't want to take it out and replace it. Winter will see me installing a bypass switch to my starter relay so that I can start my engine.
I like how it works.
The direct replacement for my Toyota Corolla of 1993 works well.
