The disconnect between the starter and battery in a truck can it be used?

Ground terminals are used to disconnect the battery from the earth. As all connections on the switch are exposed, some metal objects can fall between the terminals and the metallic body of the vehicle, causing a short when used on the positive terminal.

How does it rate in terms of weather resistance?

Despite not having installed mine yet, I would like to put it inside a storage cabinet when I do. There will be no exposure to the elements in the mine.

Can this be used in the rain?

It has been designed to be mounted inside. Ideally, it should be placed under the hood inside the cab or inside a box. Mounting the lamp outside would cause the terminals to rust and corrode.
