This 1993 Roadmaster model

The 3rd light in my car was staying on, so I fixed it, and I was able to use the cruise control again. It's no wonder that the plastic threads at the base of the switch were stripped after 27 years of usage, as it is one of the most abused switches on your car. I still had no problems besides that. There are certainly plastic threads in this apron, but I shouldn't have to worry about them for at least 25 years.

The Workhorse P42 was built in 2002

Older switches failed to lock out and the shift would not be locked out. It was identified as a safety issue after the truck failed state inspection because the shifter can be removed from park without releasing A switch in a truck like this is really easy to replace. Switch is installed, it works perfectly, it fits well, and inspection has That's all there is to it.
