I'm not certain, but I believe it will only sync with a nearby receiver. A few feet, to be precise. However, I could see it attempting to sync with probes in a large shop with several technicians working side by side.
It serves as a secondary temperature input for the main unit.
Selected User Reviews For POWER PROBE Add-on Temperature Probe (TEMPPROBE) [For TEMPKIT, Automotive Diagnostic Car Test Tool, Wireless Temperature Readings]
It performs admirably. Any type of automotive or HVAC work would be recommended. It appears to be quite accurate. Powerprobe produces high-quality products, as anyone who knows them knows. It would be nice if it were a little smaller so that it could fit into tighter spaces, but it does the job. I would recommend this thermometer to anyone looking for a good one.
After purchasing the power probe set, I discovered that it only came with one temperature probe, which I purchased for a low price and which works perfectly now that I have a complete set up.
Everything is in order. You can monitor the driver and passenger sides of a vehicle's hvac system, or two cars at once, with this add-on, which is one of the best I've seen in a long time.
This was purchased as a supplement to my current setup. It immediately paired and functions perfectly.
The user manual is illegible, and the range is less than 2 feet. This unit will not work as (wireless) described unless the main unit is placed right next to the sensor.
I use it to check temperature splits in air conditioners in the RV industry. These attach to the intake and exhaust sides of the air conditioner vents. The only issue I have is that the temperature probes aren't 100% in sync with each other. They differ by about 1 1/2 degrees, but I account for this when calculating the temperature.
