Greetings, From my experience, it's just a simple plug and play process. Check to make sure your connector and pins aren't melted or corroded, because they will need to be replaced if you have either. It is important to check for blown fuses once the new MPM is installed if the device does not power on. Thank you, Tomas

Working on fixing my radio that went out on my E60. As a result of where the BMW installed it at the bottom of the trunk, my old one was melted and shorted out. Usually, higher ground is better for the new one. Aside from taking out two fuses that I couldn't see, the old one also blew one that was not obvious. Check all rear trunk fuses, even the big ones, if the system does not work right away.
The installation is easy, and the fit is perfect. I find this to be very useful.
