This is a brand new 18:1 ratio Metal Gear for repairing your RV slide out motor that has been stripped. There's no reason to spend a lot of money on a new motor right now. Even if you don't have a mechanical background, you can replace the gear and upgrade the metal gear with common tools. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a new motor at the mechanic's shop. It's very simple to do, and even someone who isn't mechanically inclined can figure it out, as shown in the photo.

There is no motor included in the package. Metal Gear is the only game included in the Repair Kit.

Is it possible to reduce the shaft with emery cloth to make the gear fit? The gear, like the plastic one that was broken, will not fit. ?

Gear has a small hole in it

I bought this gear to replace a broken one in my slide room motor, but it turned out to be a dud. The pin couldn't go through the hole because it was too small. My replacement friend attempted to tap it onto the pin. It became tangled up. He took the pin and gear out of the gear and tapped the pin off. I requested and was granted a return authorization. To return the equipment to the vendor, I had to pay for shipping. I haven't received a refund in a couple of weeks. In a couple of ways, this vendor isn't the best. For the same price, I found OEM gear and had it installed by a friend. (I'm 68 years old and no longer as agile as I once was. ) The OEM gear works flawlessly. This is not a company to buy gear from. It doesn't fit, and they're taking a long time to refund my money. As a result, I now have a total of $100, plus labor. Not a happy camper, to say the least. There was no intention of making a pun.

👍. Self-help is simple and inexpensive. Repair. Bedroom Slide (bed) in a 2008 Monaco Cayman. Original 12-volt battery has been replaced. year- With this new all-metal gear, the old plastic gear is replaced. Easy Fix. Self-discipline takes about an hour. repair. SlideOut performs as well as it did the first time you used it. I'm blown away by the SELLER! In just four days, I received my order! There are four days remaining. via the postal service On a Tuesday, I placed an order for this. The following Saturday, I received my package. There are four days remaining. The best of the best. Wonderful!.

The gear ratio was perfect, but some of the coating had to be drilled out

Don't do what I did and turn on the gear. This opens the door to a whole new world of problems. If you can't reach the cover after removing the unit, you'll need snap ring pliers, cup grease, and a Phillips screw driver. The snap ring can be reattached with the help of two concave washers that act as springs when a little pressure is applied. Aside from that, it's a simple installation. I only gave it four stars because I had to drill out the shaft hole in order for it to spin properly. When the slide is knocked, the shaft spins in the aluminum case, which causes the slide to open slowly.

A near-perfect replacement was found

The hole was small and needed to be drilled out to accommodate the mounting pin, but other than that, it was a perfect replacement for the shattered plastic original. It makes a little more noise, but not to the point of being annoying.

The ideal substitute

It was great to be able to locate this replacement part because no one in the area stocked anything other than the entire actuator (which is quite expensive). It was simple to set up and works flawlessly. Before closing the gear box, make sure the gears are well greased.

It Works! Our slide is now operational! We had to enlarge the center hole a little, but everything else fit perfectly! We're overjoyed that we've discovered a metal substitute
