My 98 John Deere LT155 was a perfect fit. Wednesday, I noticed the steering was stiff and the loose, making it nearly impossible to steer; upon closer inspection, I discovered the steering shaft was stripped and the bottom bushing was worn and cracked. That night, I placed an order for this kit, and it arrived the next morning. If you're handy with tools, it'll be a breeze to put together.
My LT155's steering gear was stripped, but I was able to repair it. It's a pain in the buttocks to replace this assembly, and it'd be a lot easier with two people. The components were accurate and completed the task. Only time will tell how long they will last, as shipping took significantly longer than I had anticipated. I placed my order on Monday, but FedEx didn't indicate that it was delivered until Wednesday, so it didn't arrive until Friday.
My tractor has been restored to its former glory. According to other reviewers, using this kit results in a tow-away situation. The front tires are in good shape. I was dubious at first, but it did result in a minor tow-in. I'm in the same boat as you, in terms of condition. I'm not sure why, because these new parts look exactly like the ones that came off the tractor. It's not a big deal for me because I use it on my lawn. Despite this occurrence, I would strongly recommend this product due to its low cost and overall steering performance once installed. The installation was no more difficult than I had anticipated for an OEM kit.
It gave my tires so much toe in that I couldn't get it to go straight in the wet grass. Customer service was quick to respond and asked numerous questions about my ability to make a simple part swap, which irritated me, but they did give me a refund and I simply went to the dealership, which cost a little more but ensured that I would not have to do the swap again.
The steering on my husband's John Deere had stopped working. These were the components required to repair it. We received them the following week after they were shipped out on the same day we ordered them. In just a few hours, the riding mower was up and running!br>Highly recommended!.
The replacement parts are a perfect fit. The current issue is that the wheels are toed in rather than straight. This condition cannot be corrected by adjusting the rod lengths from the steering sector to the wheels. The Caltric parts do not appear to be cut and fitted to the original part dimensions. I didn't make any comparisons between the old and new sectors, so this is just my opinion.
On the steering sector, the tie rod holes are not in the same location as they were on the original equipment. Tow in is a big deal!.
My JD LT155 fit perfectly with this aftermarket. I was able to complete the installation despite the difficulty. It only took me about an hour to finish, and the steering is as good as new. Thank you so much.
