In this case, there is a top post terminal and this is NOT the one piece starter wire that runs from the battery to the solenoid and splits at a I think sellers ought to be required to provide these details! In my case this wire was not the right one for my 03 Avalanche's
These are attached to the top posts on the battery and are supposed to be connected at the junction block before running a separate wire to the starter. Despite having a fuse block, it does not have a hot wire. My starter wire had to be trimmed to fit this, then I had to modify the plastic housing on my junction block so that it tees off for power from the alternator, and then I bolted this in at the junction block. There is only a 3 star rating instead of a return since I was able to make it work and look semi-decent.
Almost an exact fit for my Silverado 1500 LS 2009. It is only one and the same complaint I have about this positive cable As the connector for the starter has a small flange (to prevent the connector from rotating and loosening the nut) it is on the opposite side from the factory connector, so I had to hammer it flat so it aligned with the rest of the connector. Even though I tried to rotate the connector 180 degrees, the cable was so thick that it almost was impossible to get it back on In the event that you did manage to rotate it so that the flange is facing the opposite direction on the stud, you would not be able to use your socket to tighten the nut as it is too tight. The product would be flawless if they fixed this one small flaw.
Taking care of business with ACDELCO. My truck's body part was the right one for it. Similar to the original but slightly different. Cable should be of exact length, correct gauge, connectors should be in place, as well as a heat shield at the end of the cable. Suitable for both function and fit. It requires work of course, but you can achieve it even if you're just a DIYer or shade tree mechanic. I was happy with the price and the shipping was fast.
