We assumed the battery was being drained by the regulator or alternator, and it worked perfectly. This replacement solved the problem, and the battery no longer drains as quickly.

The ring terminals are too small to fit on the solenoid as well as the ground mounting post/screw on the golf cart and must be modified by drilling out the ring or cutting off and replacing with new ring terminals, as stated in some of the reviews. Being 45 minutes away from the nearest hardware store was a major inconvenience. I tried to drill out the ring terminal, but the metal is very thin, and one of them broke through/mangled. I was able to use it for a short time until I ordered it, then I removed it and replaced it with a product from a different company, DB Electrical, which I purchased through Walmart. com because it came with a warranty and was easier to return to the store if needed. The finished product was of higher quality, with the proper gauge wire and ring terminal sizes. In a fraction of the time and with better results, I was able to install the appropriate product. One plus: returning the item through Amazon was simple, and the seller contacted me for feedback on the product.
This voltage regulator was purchased to replace one that had burned out. The regulator began to smoke as soon as it was installed and the gas pedal was pressed. It was then removed. ***Modified Reviewbr>Although the item was defective in my case as seen above - I purchased one directly from a dealer with no issues. The seller's customer service was excellent, offering a no-questions-asked refund and inquiring if there was anything else they could do for the customer. I'm hoping it was just a bad item I got, because no one or nothing is perfect.
So far, I haven't been able to locate the schematic. They also used a ring lug that was too small for the relay, so I had to cut it off and replace it with a larger lug. I can't send it back now because it's been changed. Buyer beware! This part does not correspond to the description. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I was successful in getting it to work. I measured the voltage using the red wire to the solenoid, the yellow wire to the generator, and the black wire to ground, and found that it was 14. The battery has a voltage of 6 volts. It's charging because the black wire with the spade lug isn't connected (I believe that wire should be grounded). I'm hoping it'll continue to charge.
This regulator was defective from the start, causing the generator to overcharge to a voltage of 20 volts.
I've got the product set up and running. On the regulator, I had to change all of the connectors. To make the black frame ground, red solenoid ring terminal, and yellow bullet connector fit, they all needed to be modified.
What I was looking for. The connectors must be replaced, as has already been stated by others. My Club Car 2000 is my personal vehicle. It appears to be of high quality. The shipment arrived on schedule.
I used to have to charge the battery about once a month, but now it works perfectly!.
