In a way, OEM is a little If you are only going off-road lightly, it's firmer The rear end even appeared to lift by an inch or so as it traveled down the road. After having my stock rear shocks that had 80k miles replaced with these Rancho shocks, I installed a 1 inch lift and spacer. My 4Runner had to be leveled along its entire rear end. In the front of my Jeep, I had installed the Rancho Quicklift, and it lifted more than just leveling the vehicle.
