Perfect fit and you can choose where you want the Zerk fitting to be. The right side of the body is drilled and tapped 6mm, for a straight Zerk fitting located to the left, which makes it significantly easier to install the grease gun. Glad I purchased this. It is wise to install the 6mm zerk fitting with an 8mm socket, as a 6mm one does not come with one.
It has been a while since I've done anything to my Yukon SLE 2002. As far as Sway Arm links are concerned, this was the easiest. It is a good idea to purchase a new idler arm so you don't have to remove the original part to press onto this part. Those GM front ends are pretty tight. It requires a simple press or beating to remove the idler arm from the steering linkage, and then two bolts to take off the old one. In either case, this is a review about this part, so it gets a 5 out of 5.
I found it to be very sturdy and precise. There is one problem I have with it it lasted me only about a year before it started to move. conducted some research and found that the part number on the casting is not an ACDelco part In my work at a GM dealership, I have looked up all the numbers offered on the website but none were listed as ACDelco numbers. It lasted through one year of hard driving and did its job for the time being, even though I have no idea what it's doing wrong.
The system has been great thus far. We'll let you know if it fails too soon.
The part is made in China and there is no GM part number inscribed on it. It was returned.
As opposed to other parts where I had problems, this one has an Allen wrench socket to hold the shaft while tightening the keeper nut, my last knock off part didn't.
The first time I used this was when I bought my 2005 GMC 2500HD. We use this truck mostly to pull our camping trailer and sit while waiting for it to pull the My car clocked out a couple of weeks ago, so I took it to the dealership to have it aligned. As soon as they said it was too worn to do the alignment. My response was that I would need My jaw dropped when I heard what had happened. In addition to being more worn out, the one that it replaced was difficult to open. There are less than 5000 miles on this vehicle.
The nut on the idler pivot was the wrong size. There was a difference in thread pitch between the pivot and the nut, but it was not noticeable in An idler arm had to be removed and the nut cut off so that it wouldn't damage the new part.
