They have been installed on my 2006 Buick Lucerne CXL with four cylinders. I don't care if they last just one year. I have 6 V8s and they are worth every penny. After reinstalling into the car, I changed the springs from the OEM struts with the new struts. The ride height on the car then came down to 29 1/2 inches. I raised the car by approximately 3/4 inch higher than I started, and now it With the OEM springs, the ride is actually a little softer. It's a bit more to my liking (though still not my favorite). br> *Note the springs on the new struts were about 2 inches. This spring is 5 inches higher than the OEM spring. Spring coils were 5 in the new springs, and they were 4 in the OEM springs. Please take this for what it is worth, this is just my 2cents. These are great products and I will certainly purchase more of them in the future. To maintain the appearance of the vehicle or to improve the ride height, rent yourself a spring compressor and swap the springs before you put them in. I rated this product 3 stars on the easy to install criteria, meaning that the product itself fits like the original, but if you can install them yourself, the most challenging part would be to place the lower part of the strut vertically. Additionally, the bolts that attach the lower strut on my 2008 Lucerne have groves on the side of them and can be hard to remove. I guess my strut install rating is more a function of how the car is made than of the strut itself.

Detroit Axle struts replaced the old AC Delco ones since the old strut tower was groaning when turning left (the bushings were dry rotted and This was on my exhaust for under 2 months then it started doing it again on the other side of the strut. My last struts lasted for just over.
