Is this part suitable for a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS?

It is true. Fits the GS and the GS- It is a hybrid of GT, and GSX. Mounting for pillow balls is done with 3 bolts in front, and top mounting for the rear is done with 2 bolts. Please make sure you have a way to open the front lower strut mount a little wider (such as a tapered punch) since mine were very tight. Make sure that everything is thoroughly lubricated before installing.

Make adjustments to the preload before installation. I am very satisfied with this product. Item arrived as expected and was of good quality. In the passenger side front coilover (which led me to do the same on the driver side) the pillow ball on top of the strut with the camber adjustment screws made a loud cracking sound when I turned my steering wheel left to right the day after installation. There was a grinding noise coming from the coilovers. After disassembling them, I found that there was no grease The sound went away as soon as I greased all the parts and reinstalled them. Moreover, the factory claims that the coilovers are correctly preloaded, but that was not the case. As a result, I had to reseat the passenger side front which was so tight it caused a binding in the high tension spring (which is why the steering was grinding). The coilovers were then able to be used as intended after those two issues were resolved. As always, I recommend 100% just make sure that you check preload on the dry bearing surfaces and grease the.

The tracks are solid, but they need a bit more work

It did lower pretty well but it was a little difficult to get it to get into the wishbone, but other than that it worked great.
