Selected User Reviews For Moog K8777 Radius Arm Bracket
I own a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The original brackets on my 150 4x4 had rusted out, so I needed to replace them. According to other reviews, the bolt holes were too small in comparison to the frame hole. And, yes, I agree; I used larger bolts that fit the frame holes, so I enlarged the holes in the bracket and replaced the hardware. The holes appear to be in good shape, and the bolts provided appear to be adequate. But I'm one of those people who believes that bigger is better, and I'd rather have a titer fit. Everything went smoothly, and I had no trouble swapping out the two sides. Oh, and if you're replacing the bracket, I'd recommend getting new bushings while you're at it. And if you need to drill out the original rivets, get some extra drill bits. I used an 1/8 drill bit for a pilot, then a 5/16, 7/16, or 1/2 for the head, and a good sized metal chisel with a 2 pound hammer to knock the head off after drilling part way through, and a punch to knock the rivet out of the frame. Once you've got everything set up, the job goes pretty quickly. Yes, these brackets are something I would buy again.
This item was not compatible with the 1996 Ford F150. Only three of the holes lined up due to their small size. The part number on the box matched the part number on the order, but the actual component did not fit. Ordered from the Bronco Graveyard, and it was a perfect fit - Moog hasn't worked out. Bolts were smaller (despite the fact that I had to order multiple times just to get the bolts as advertised). No, this part would not be recommended for a 1996 Ford F150.
I was concerned that this would cause the installation to move around. I used a step drill to remove a bit of material and reused the old fasteners (though I could've probably just installed it as it was delivered and called it a day) After that, it functioned flawlessly and was simple to set up.
My old mounting flange had elongated holes due to privious bushing failure, so new radius arm bushings fit perfectly in this part. br>br>DIFFERENT, STRONGER, LARGER BOLTS THAN WHAT WAS SUPPLIED ARE DEFINITELY REQUIRED FOR THIS PART! br>br>The large metal component is fantastic. When attaching it to your truck, make sure you research the appropriate grade or class of fastener. Use genuine locking and load-distribution design nuts as well. The type of fastener you require is not available in most local hardware stores. Make sure you don't mix up a Grade 8 and a Class 8 bolt. 8 bolt - Make use of a reliable source. br>br>Instructions were missing, and the bolts and nuts were in the wrong place - A star has been deducted from the rating. Otherwise, it breathes new life into the old truck.
This fixed my radius arm issues perfectly; I figured since I was replacing the springs and had to take the arm off anyway, I might as well replace everything. For the most part, I just used the OE bolts, though I had a few minor issues getting it on because this part has slightly different sized holes than the OE.
Item arrived in poor packaging, with almost nothing in the box to keep the items safe while in transit to me. The bolts were loose, as was the main bracket, which resulted in a lot of paint damage and holes in the box, resulting in the loss of some of the bolts and nuts. I will be purchasing grade 8 replacement bolts to mount the unit, so I am not concerned about the lost hardware, but I was hoping for more care in the packaging. Just an FYI, UPS shipping regulations are what ALL shipping departments should base their packaging on, and I know from my 10+ years in that field that UPS requires EVERY item to be packaged to withstand a 5 foot drop without damage. This package met those criteria by a long shot.

However, aside from that, this is a good product. br>br>Everyone with a f150-based vehicle should consider this. The bronco and/or the explorer must inspect theirs. Cracks and failures are common in these structures, especially where the caustic road degrades. It is necessary to use icer. If you notice a lot of rust or stress fractures, replace them right away. You don't want to consider the consequences if one of them loses control. br>br>On Amazon, the price fluctuations are a bit annoying. This thing went up $15 in price one night, then dropped back to where it was when I first started watching it a week later.
