Selected User Reviews For ELITEWILL Rear Fuel Tank Support Crossmember and Rear Upper Shock Mount Crossmember Fit for 1999-2006 Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 - Two Packages
For a 2007 Silverado 1/2-ton, we couldn't locate the third cross member. We needed both in this set and ordered them in the hopes of being able to use them with our 07. We were very pleased with the quality and were able to easily adapt the rear tank cross member to fit our 2007. Each cross member was shipped separately and arrived a few days apart; we were very pleased with the quality and were able to easily adapt the rear tank cross member to fit our 2007. The straight cross member was exactly what I needed.
The crossmembers listed here will not fit 2008 trucks, at least not without fabricating new shock mounts and readjusting the tank bracket. I had inquired prior to purchase, and they confirmed that they would fit, but only after significant modification, as I previously stated. However, in a pinch, these will suffice. You won't find a better deal to get or keep your truck on the road.
Although it appears to be of good quality, I only received half of the other box, and this ladder rack was a real pain in the neck. I had hoped to have my truck done this weekend.
These are both functional and attractive. The steel welds are excellent, and they are well-fitting. I've used them several times and will most likely use them exclusively for this type of frame repair in the future. The exhaust hanger, as an example, could be included.
The crossmembers were made of high-quality heavy metal and fit my 2008 Silverado perfectly. I had to take my bed off to work on the rusted frame.
The shock mounts were welded on incorrectly and at an incorrect angle.
Although the fit isn't perfect, you'll still need to use a torch and welder. a score of 5/10.
The hole for the shock bolt is too big. The shock bracket bolt hole is too large, which I believe is the only flaw in the product.
