Rough Country 2" Adjustable Lift Shackles (fits) 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ | 1077

After I realized my old springs were flat, I decided to purchase these. They installed easily on my '00 XJ Sport, and I won't even get into how hard it was to remove the old ones. All I'll say is I used PB Blaster and lots of heat to get them off. I had all the hardware, but two of them are slightly shorter and go in the bottom while the longer ones go at The bolts on top of the top bolt take a nut from the frame so nuts/washers are not needed on my '00. Here, you can see the bolt fits a little differently than the one displayed in the photo. There are also traces of blood on his knuckles because of the old shackles being removed. Lastly, keep in mind I used a 21mm socket to get the old bolts out, a 22mm socket to put the new one in the top, and the bottom bolt was a standard size and not metric, so you will need multiple tools to finish the job. Then why are there only 4 stars instead of 5 stars? It was unhandy to mix the hardware however, I do appreciate the extra height, I gained about an inch and a half at the top. Depending on whether you have a Reese hitch, you will need to remove it before installing the shackle since you want the head facing the exhaust rather than the nut, since the nut is larger and could contact.

This Jeep Cherokee Laredo dates to 1989. There is little growth on the leaves, and there is a lot of wear on them. As a result of installing 31s, the fender gets caught on the tire when I hit a bump or dive. To provide me with the clearance that I require, this shackle works great. will still end up replacing the leaves under the hood, but for now, this shackle is a great workaround. You'll have to grease up your bushings before installing them too, because they are not regreasable. It took about 20 to 30 minutes to install I recommend taking 30 minutes to complete this. This is a very easy and straightforward process. Rather than the hardware it came with, I used the nut and bolt on the existing piece.

As soon as I put a 3" Rough Country lift on my XJ, I noticed that the rear end still squatted pretty low when loaded up with gear, so I ordered these adjustable shackles to set the altitude of the rear end of my Jeep. No matter how I reloaded it, the optical illusion was still jarring. Although the body looked level, the rear wheel wells did not have the same gap as the front, and I was bothered by this. It raised the rear end up enough to correct the illusion after installing these shackles. Despite its weight, the Jeep is now level when loaded and rides a lot better now. Is there a reason why 4 stars are given The shackles on my application, a 2001 XJ, were bottoming out on a bumper bolt. So I had to raise the Jeep and trim the bumper bolts, The new contract is satisfactory, and I get the flexibility I need from Rough Country pretty much advertises this product as a drop-in replacement, so it isn't a huge deal, but one can say it's not an ideal choice In no place is it mentioned that existing hardware must be modified to function. The final product, however, is one I am extremely pleased with.

This is the 6th set of these I have installed on 6 different Cherokees. With the most recent one coming from down south I was hoping the bolts wouldn't be seized in the bushing. They ended up being seized nonetheless. The only way to get the shackle out is to cut the bolts. Depending on rust, this may be the only possibility. However, you need to turn away from the bottom bolts that come with the kit since they are too large to fit through the leaf spring eye. They are the correct replacements for the upper bolts that attach the bumper to the body of the Jeep. Should you choose to cut the bolts to remove the shackles, you will need to use the bottom bolts or find another type of bolt than what is provided in this kit. I wish you the best of Because of the rust, the job is not as straightforward as it seems. Make sure the new bolts are greased before you put them in, just like they should have come from the factory.

Instead of adding a leaf spring to my second-gen XJ, I installed these because I had to replace a leaf spring and shackle (if you can believe it, both had been eaten up by rust), anyway, and wanted to only go Since they are brand new, I have them on the most restrictive setting for now, but I am very satisfied with how they behave. A star was deducted because the bolts that came with the package weren't compatible with.

As soon as you remove the old stock shutters, installation is very simple. The shackle could not be fully articulated due to the removal of the bumper bolt. XJ is raised by one. The rear is composed of five cars. I still have one hole to go if I need to go higher in the future. This product was used to lift the rear of the vehicle once a tire carrier bumper had been installed. I haven't had any issues with it, and it rides a lot better.

This is an ideal This was the fast and easy way to address my need of 1in clearance over stock on my Cherokee. It was a nice bonus to have all the hardware I needed We were able to complete the project in just 45 minutes.

I'd give it a better rating, but one set of bolts did not fit. A set of bolts didn't fit, requiring me to reuse my originals. I'd give this product a 4 or even 5 star rating. There was literally no place for the bolts in either end of the product! Not only did it not fit my vehicle, it also doesn't have bolts that can be used unless the product is modified. This isn't the end of the world and a good product in general.
