Questions & Answers

I'm not sure what it's called, but the slip over or lock washer popped off, causing the entire thing to fall apart while in use. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

Apply a small amount of grease to the ball and socket joint.

What is the diameter of the hole and the diameter of the bolt? It's a shame you didn't mention this. ?

Bolt measures 3/4 inch in diameter and is 3/4 inch in length. 3/8" wide, 1/2" nut

Is it brass that has been chrome-plated? The reason for this is that they are intended to be used in salt water. ?

They appear to be stainless steel because I used them in saltwater for the entire summer and they did not rust!

Is the stainless steel used in the ball joints?

Contrary to popular belief, Are they, at the very least, made of brass if they're chrome plated?

make it simple to steer with a kicker motor Because my main engine and kicker motor are about 3 feet apart, I decided to order these to create my own "custom" steering bar
5/5

I welded a fine thread bolt to each end of a rod I got from the hardware store, bent it a little, and then screwed these balljoints onto the ends. It works perfectly and was a breeze to set up. Keep in mind that these are finely threaded items.

Excellent quality
5/5

These are a LOT more powerful than I anticipated. I used them to make some quick disconnects for an offroad SUV, and I wasn't sure if they'd be able to withstand the amount of stress the stabilizer bar puts on them at first. I'm astounded; they've been on for a couple weeks and haven't bowed or twisted in any way. The springs are a little flimsy, but this isn't a major issue. Overall, a fantastic value for the money product.

Cut a length of SS 3/8 X 24 threded rod
5/5

I went to Tacoma Screw and bought some SS 3/8 X 24 threded rod, cut it to length, added an extender on one end with a copuler, and it works perfectly. br>Warning: this is a potentially dangerous situation. Because the C clip is not made of stainless steel, it will corrode and possibly fall off. The retainer cup and spring may be lost as a result.

Will take care of the situation
4/5

However, the conclusion is o- When I use it for the first time, the ring inside the ball socket will fall out. Also, zinc-plated steel is not the same as stainless steel.

Ball joints make trolling a breeze
5/5

These ball joints and a threaded stainless steel rod work great for connecting my trolling motor to my main outboard engine, allowing me to steer the boat from up front.
