I had the service engine light on on my 1998 E450. To check the code, I took it to an auto zone. A code P1405 is assigned. Sensors with DPFE technology. The price of DPFE15 sensors ranged from $10 to $200. I read reviews and looked at all of the available options online. All of them looked the same from the outside. Therefore, I decided to spend a few minutes to try the cheap one first. I received it quickly, installed it quickly, and the check engine light isn't Just for the sake of checking it out, I drove 20 miles. Everything seems to be going well. has worked for me. In the event that this sensor melts or blows up, I will change the final However, it seems to be doing what it should be doing thus far.
A year or two seems to be the lifespan of these little EGR controls. simply drive around a bit longer before replacing it again so that I can take advantage of the surging and bucking I get from driving. It is possible I will eventually purchase a pick up truck that will last 5 years, but then again, I am not sure both I and the truck will still be on the road then. I've been using it for a week and so far it is working well. A few hundred miles into my trip, my check engine light came back on out in the middle of Montana, and now the car is bucking and surging again. Cold engines are the most likely to experience this problem.
It can be installed without using tools as it is a plug-and-play component. My part was installed in January of this year. A shorting failure occurred in June 2019 that blew a part off of the casing. Six months were left on the part before failure. Exhaust flow is measured by this part and a hot gas is exposed to it. The cause of this failure could not be found in any other aspect of the vehicle.
The part was only $12, so I decided to replace it. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the problem, a broken wire I eventually identified being the source of the problem. The replacement part was left in the wire because I believed the repair would be better than the original 17-foot wire In spite of the fact that the part was over a year old, the check engine light reappeared several weeks later. In this case, the EGR code pointed towards the new part. I replaced it with the original 17-88-L41 part. The check engine light and the part that was one year old went out and have not returned after many weeks and thousands.
According to the delivery schedule, the item arrived on time. Change of this sensor takes about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the tools you have and how proficient you are at Unlike I said early in the post, this is my third sensor and it's been a long time coming. With a price of approximately $10, this flow sensor is the least expensive by far. I think it is 00 if I am recalling I purchased the first 2 from Amazon at a cost of about $30 each. Their lifetimes were exactly the same the first lasted for just over a year, and the second of about a month before failing. The last time this one was on was about a year or two ago. Now that it's been 2 months, so far it's been.
It is a useless plastic piece. The reason it is so cheap is that it is made of inferior materials. A lot of suckers bought them for the price, and now the maker is making a lot of money from it. Took me months to track down a problem that was caused by installing this garbage.
The price was a lot lower than those of other brands, so I bought it. The reason behind it is obvious. Within two weeks, the engine began running rough and throwing multiple codes that would require a new EGR pressure sensor to be installed. Now that the OEM part has been ordered, it will be delivered by Motorcraft.
I started noticing a check engine light on my 4 month old DPFE two days ago, and today (June 29,2019) I'm going to figure out what has gone wrong with it. Basically what is happening is that some of the ice melts away and blows away. *Don't pay any attention to this*.
