In both 2002 and 2003 Carrera 4S, the same part fits.
Honestly, I'm absolutely positive the MAF sensor did not change from 00 to 1, but I would still consult with a Porsche mechanic just in case. I have not had any problems with the sensor
A hundred percent sure is not possible. Having purchased this part for my 2000 Boxster, I don't believe there are any differences between this part's fitment on 1999 and 2000 models. It is my hope that this helped.

I had an issue with my 03 Boxster S stalling at start up and having a rough idle a few weeks ago. A fault code of P0103 was detected by my scanner as a result of the CEL being illuminated and indicating As a result of reading about the error code, I decided to remove the MAF and clean it with a spray cleaner exclusive to MAF sensors at my local auto It proved to be a simple first step to do before buying a new part. The rough idle had been gone for a few minutes, but within a few blocks the CEL came back on again While shopping online, I found that the Bosch part on Amazon was about half price compared to some of the big Porsche parts shops (like Pelican and Suncoast). The OEM part numbers are identical, so I couldn't tell the difference in price while swapping. There are several videos on YouTube with step-by-step instructions that can help you do the DIY job in about an hour. All you need is a T20 torx security bit (hole in the middle). In the case of this fix, there is no need to take the car to the mechanic if you know some basic mechanic tricks.
As the car started, it slowed down and lost power in acceleration. Some people tried cleaning the MAF, but it did not work when they searched it on Rennlist. Another suggestion was simply to replace it rather than to try and fix it by cleaning the MAF. After swapping out this unit, it took me no more than five minutes. I've got boom! On my 2002 996 C4, I am no longer seeing any codes. My search for this part included Pelican parts and this was the best price I found.
There were two codes thrown and rough idle was present. Those problems were corrected with this program, and installation took no longer than 30 minutes from start to finish. Make sure not to touch the wire at its end.
I had to fix my Porsche 986 for the annoying P1128 and the red light These P1130 codes are given below. Based on research, it seemed like the best place to start troubleshooting was with the MAF. The old MAF had been removed, I used MAF cleaner, but because of the cost I decided to just replace it rather than use the time. My car has been performing better and I haven't noticed any codes since then. Make a sound with your fist.
There is an error in the description of this Mass Air Flow sensor that says that it fits a 1998 Porsche Boxster. If you own a 1998 Boxster, you should purchase a Bosch Original Equipment 0280217007 Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF).
However, my check engine light remains on after I installed it. My oxygen sensors need to be installed now.
I had been hoping for something like this for a long time. A replacement of this type at my mechanic would have cost hundreds of dollars. We bought this MAF & kit from Amazon for a very reasonable price. My car has been running perfectly since then since the software cleared all my codes. This is something that I highly recommend.
