There's supposed to be mild steel in them, but they are chrome plated and so you'll need to grind the chrome off to be able to weld them. Stupidity is the only word to describe it. It is a good idea to chrome before welding, but who thought that of? A second cause is that the plug's threads do not match the threads on the so-called "weldable" I think the fit is awfully sloppy and I don't think it will seal properly. Please do not purchase these parts in a completely unusable state.
The last few installations have been great with these. It's nice that the plug is included so you don't have to worry about leaks. If you need to replace your O2 sensor, you can simply place the plug that comes with it.
You have the choice of three different styles of downpipe for the Mazda Miata (flux and arc stick installation). I chose the Chrome finish because it has a deep step.
They appear to be of very high Having my wideband installed in a customer's vehicle is not something I want to do. I prefer to get them their.
They're good to keep on hand when doing custom exhaust systems, especially stainless steel ones.
I like how they look. It's hard for me to discern if they're chromed or polished. The welding I have done on these yet is not the deciding factor for me, though I can say that they thread nicely and are in the quality range that I had hoped for.
Threads that are sloppy. They used a wrong tap on the threads of the bung, almost as if the female threads were too sloppy. These would be extremely easy to strip out of an oxygen sensor. Plugs are fine, but they don't matter since weld bungs are the main reason people buy this product.
If you tighten them, the threads fall right out. A total waste of time.
