Isn't this the "water in fuel" sensor that goes into the frame's plastic spin-off cover? mounted housing for the fuel filter?

It is. It's also possible that your Ford Dealer will offer you a better deal. Take care if you haven't yet removed the filter housing to replace the filter. The plastic nut easily snaps off, spilling diesel all over the place. Dealers claim they regularly break them and only replace them when the filter needs to be changed. To remove the housing, I used a big filter wrench.
