This will fit a 2017 Ranger 1000 with two or four seats. The 2018- This year will be different.
To get the right one, I had to return mine and call the manufacturer. It's fantastic.

Call the manufacturer; different connectors are available; for example, mine is for a 17 1000xp with ride command, and I ordered what I thought was the correct one, but it wasn't; so call them first.

Power is supplied via wires that are connected to the brake harness. When the key is turned on, it stays turned on. It's running, and you can hear it. It's not too loud. Overall, I am pleased with the product.
They do what they're supposed to do, which I appreciate. Reduces the temperature of the clutch housing and belt, extending the life of the belt.
I installed it on my Rzr, and the heat radiates from my snorkel exhaust.
It works perfectly, and it's a good replacement for the one that was thrown away.
The clutch vents were designed by Polaris to draw air in from the side vent and exhaust it through the front vent. This fan pulls air in from the front vent (located near the exhaust manifold) and pushes it out the intake vent. This appears to be the opposite of what should be done. Why would you want hot air blown into your clutch from a vent near the exhaust manifold? Furthermore, a frogskin filter is installed in the side (intake) vent to prevent dust and debris from being sucked into the clutch. By sucking in hot, unfiltered air into your clutch, the design of this blower completely negates this. This blower should be reversed to draw in cooler, filtered air from the side (intake) vent for best results. It moves a lot of air, but the design isn't particularly well thought out.
