Questions & Answers

It has been my experience that this product has come with substandard replacement parts Does standard care for such a fragile product exist? Is this an issue that has been addressed?

When mine arrived in a little plastic bag banging around, I demanded to have them replaced so I wouldn't have to tear the top of my engine apart a month later from damage. Amazon did a little better the next time, putting them in a brown envelope. In terms of packing, Amazon is an idiot. They wrap a pet rock like it is a broken ornament or throw a fragile crystal wine glass into a huge box with little wrapping paper and threaten to cancel your account if you complain about too many damaged items. You will not be refunded the balance of your gift card! One thousand two hundred dollars was in my pocket. It did not include a protection covering, and it weighed over 6lbs. The box tore, it got lost in shipping, I received an email from Amazon notifying me that they were going to close my account, and that I would lose $500 in gift cards. Why? In the past, I have complained heavily about damages to my orders, such as lenses that were lost

The 2004 Chevy Silverado z71 crew cab 5 offers plenty of power and capability. I need 3L, do you know how many I need? Do you know if the part number is the same as before or different from before?

Besides the wiring harness, you will need two. IRON MANIFOLDS ARE NOT TO BE PURCHASED OTHER THAN AT KNICK OFFS AT CHEAP PRICES THAT DO NOT WORK. Repetition is key. I will not be working. You will have to do it twice if you do not spend the additional money. If you do it twice, get factory parts for the second time. My word is your bond!

Can you tell me if this item is made in Mexico?

My scanner reported an error for these knock sensors, so I had to return them. After installation, I kept getting an engine light with a message that the sensors weren't When I went onto the GM website I ordered the original that was more expensive and In addition to the new wiring, I ordered brittle originals. My 2006 Silverado has now passed power and is running great without the engine light coming on.

The part you're looking at is a real AC Delco part, is it What is the debate between those who claim the book is good and those who claim it isn't?

We will ship them to you in original ACDelco packaging if you order them from OverstockDirect.

Make sure to test before you install! There is a high degree of sensitivity to shock with these sensors
5/5

There is a good chance this item is going to get damaged by the folks delivering it. Since they throw boxes around, there is a good chance it's going to damage. Install the resistor by measuring its resistance with a multimeter before installation! My 2001 Silverado 5 needed two knock sensors, so I had to replace the part twice.

I installed the new knock sensors twice because I didn't check the new parts. After you get the P0332 code, you should follow steps 3 and 4. In addition, I installed a new harness, cleaned everything, and RTV sealed the plugs. I received a P0332 code a few days after that. My research has led me to believe the sensors should measure The distance between the body of the sensor and the single pin connector lying at its center is measured here. Ten kilohms was measured by one of mine. So I had to do the whole thing twice. This time, though, it was more difficult since I had to scrape and clean fresh RTV left on the surface. Prior to the installation, I measured the replacement sensor to be 99k ohms exactly. Although AC Delco sensors seem to be of good quality, like any knock sensor, you shouldn't drop or let the sensor impact something. It is advisable to measure it as soon as.

The knock sensor from the local auto store is half the price of the OEM knock sensor
5/5

I purchased these knock sensors after identifying that my 2001 5 was not compatible with them. Chevy Silverado with a 3L engine. In the amazon box, some air pillows were stuffed inside the loose bags, but they A concern about this area has been discussed although the parts arrived in good condition. It is important to note that, even though the product is an OEM part, it is assembled and made in Mexico. It didn't seem to matter however once the sensor was installed as this did not affect its performance at all. Sensors of the same type cost twice as much at local auto parts stores. As part of my short list of best value, Amazon received the highest marks since it was just a pinch less than another store's price, but it was delivered in two days with Prime. The knock sensor worked flawlessly on the first start and it has been trouble free for a week now. There will no longer be a CEL If you're going to add a knock sensor to a GM, you should keep these things in mind *If you're planning on doing this, make sure you have the time. It will take upwards of 6 hours to complete the task Since the manifold will be off for 8 hours, now is an ideal time to replace the optional parts since the manifold will be off. In addition to cleaning the IAC, MAF, and throttle body, you may want to perform additional maintenance. The following is a list of parts Usually only the rear of the knock sensors gets damaged, but since this is a large job, you may as well swap them both) . 1 Knock sensor harness (The old one will no longer function. Intake manifold gasket (This is a given. Boot won't seal, and connectors will be brittle and likely to break). Do not do this and then have a vacuum leak after reassembling).
1 Throttle body to intake manifold gasket (you will probably unmount the throttle body to make removal and cleaning easier).
1 RTV tube (high temp is preferred) The knock sensor is protected on this side by a dam that prevents moisture from entering it If you want to thoroughly clean the throttle body while the manifold is off, you can do so now.
1 Bottle of Throttle Body Cleaner. The following tools will be required
1 bottle of MAF cleaner (for cleaning the Mass Air Flow Sensor and the Idle Air Control Valve).
Some *Make sure to use a shop vac to remove grease and dirt caked on parts. While removing the manifold, regardless of how careful you are, leaves and debris are likely to fall among the valves and knock sensor cavities. If you're getting rid of debris quickly with a shop vac, this is an easy job. Other parts to replace while the manifold is apart **Valve cover gaskets w/grommets** (This is the right time to replace the valve cover gaskets if you notice any small oil leaks. ) **Heater There are many GMC trucks that have been known to break near their firewall with these things. As soon as you have easy access to them, now is the time to replace them. (Note If you haven't done so yet, now is the time. Rather than include any specific part numbers, I omitted them since they will vary based on the vehicle.

The process of replacing knock sensors is easy
5/5

As a result of a bad knock sensor bank 2, my computer indicated that there was something wrong. These two knock sensors from ACDelco are on their way to me. YouTube videos on replacing knock sensors showed me how to do it. This was a simple process, resulting in a dismissal of my check engine light. Below you will find some pictures I took while at After cleaning off the gunk from the engine block, I used an air compressor hose to blow out any debris that fell into the combustion chamber. Thanks to this process, I was able to finish the engine rebuild in two days. When I was putting back the pieces, I put the fuel injectors on the fuel rail, but I forgot to attach them to the fuel injectors. It is easiest to assemble the fuel injectors into the fuel rail first, then the locking clip onto the fuel rail/injectors. I had put the fuel injectors into the engine block, so it was the most logical sequence of things to do. On the engine block, install the fuel rail with the fuel injectors. Here is what I hope will help.

Unless you have no idea how to do it, it is very easy to install
4/5

As I have read other reviews about this product, I wrote this review in response. For GM dealers, this is one of the most profitable repairs. Isn't it a piece of cake when compared to how daunting the job is? The reviews I read said it would take a whole day for it to be completed. There is no need to take a nap in the middle of the job, since it takes 2 hours. As well, the intake gasket is made of completely reusable silicone, which clips on to the CHECK OUT THE GASKET PRICES ABOVE. It is because of its high quality and reusable ability that the stupid gasket is almost $100. As for the harness, I think that might be ok as well. Also, I do not consider myself to be a super cheap person who would waste tons of time trying to save a few dollars. My eyes were glazed over by some of the reviews I read. To do this task, you must peel off all wires and hoses from the intake and zip tie them to the wiper blade, and then pull the intake away from the engine. Clipping the gasket to the intake plastic is required. Put the intake back on and vacuum out the junk that's in the valley, clean it up, and swap the knock sensors. It is delightful to have the screws on the intake assembly captured to the assembly to make reattachment a snap A simple assembly is required. You might also want to note that the screws (little M6 items) have boots on the intake side. They are also gasket surfaces, since they pass through the intake inside the base gasket, but for some reason, those who are considering using the reusable gaskets reflexively are not considering It does not mean you have to replace the gasket just because it is a gasket. You don't need both sensors (even if you only need one) and save money by only getting one. For the gasket surfaces, you must have a shop vac and brake cleaner at your disposal. The task is simple to complete once you've performed it. If ever needed, you'll be able to do it again with ease.
