Questions & Answers

My Jeep Wrangler is a 2015 model. Where did you all get your horns mounted?

I used an extra battery tray to mount mine.

Isn't it clear that there are 12 iconic songs in the description?

It's all dixie over here.

Is there a version of La Cucaracha that plays it in the major key rather than the minor key as shown in the video? Isn't that something you'd say at a funeral?

I'm not sure, but I believe I've seen something similar.

Is this something that would fit in my Honda Civic from 2008? If that's the case, I'd appreciate some advice on where I should put them. ?

The pump has a diameter of approximately 4" and a length of approximately 6". There are several horns, the longest of which measures about a foot in length. It comes with several feet of tubing to connect the pump to the horns, but if you need to scatter them all over the place to make it fit, you may need more tubing than what comes with the kit.

It's loud and obnoxious, which is exactly how it should be
5/5

It does exactly what it says! I built a bracket out of 1/2" EMT conduit that I flattened and mounted five horns below the compressor. There was plenty of tubing included, but as you can see, my compressor is on the verge of breaking down.

What better way to get someone's attention than by honking at them? What's the most boring thing you can think of? When you pull up to a house and do the cliche *beep* *beep*, the kids inside say, "Hey, that must be Uncle John/ Aunt Karen
5/5

" "br>br>Futs to that!" says the narrator. Install this bad mamba jamba and announce your arrival in style to the entire neighborhood! "Yay!" your nieces and nephews will exclaim as they rush to the door. Uncle Chad is on the line! / Greetings, Aunt Krystal! "br>br>It's a lot of fun to have a horn like this!" My blaze orange Jeep Wrangler is equipped with one. I'll leave it to you to figure out what number is sprayed on the sides. I've always preferred blasting Dixie and chucking the horns while rocking out to Dio over the classic jeep wave. But how you use your horn is entirely up to you.

It wasn't quite as loud as I had hoped
4/5

The compressor has been giving me trouble. It's fine until you get it wet. The trumpets then begin to skip and miss notes. I couldn't make up my mind. All of my children suggested using WD40. Oil cannot be used in a compressor, as I previously stated. They asked, "What are you going to lose?" They were correct; I stood to lose nothing. I went to great lengths to install the trumpet horns as well as all of the necessary wiring. As a result, I disconnected all of the hoses from the compressor's top. I sprayed some oil into each horn hole and let it sit for a few minutes before blowing out the oil with a rag over the top of the compressor. That is exactly what happened. After that, I reconnected the hoses, and everything worked fine. The horn is actually functional. All trumpets, in all their splendor. My trumpet is a four-trumpet instrument. So that's the fifth hole taken care of. The fifth hole's cover was removed. I also added a short hose to make it easier for me to get to the compressor. And I'll be able to oil it on a more consistent basis.

It's not in tune
3/5

This is not a good idea. The compressor appeared to have been returned previously, as the ink on the label was smudged, but everything else appeared to be in working order. Although this kit does not include wiring for a momentary switch, I didn't mind because it gave me an excuse to get some high-quality 12 gauge wire and a decent low-profile switch instead of the cheap one that came with it. br>br>For the time being, the compressor works fine (it's only been installed for one day), and I was able to get by with the small amount of tubing provided, cut into equal lengths, but this is where this kit loses a star. The compressor hits notes twice as fast as it should, and while you can definitely hear Dixieland, indicating that the right tones are being triggered in the right order, two of the horns appear to be out of tune. br>br>I'm going to try and tune the horns myself by shortening a few, then see what I can do about lowering the compressor's voltage to slow it down a little. I'll almost certainly break the cheap plastic horns in the process, but it's not like it matters right now.

Make sure your compressor is working properly
5/5

Edit 2: I received a replacement product, and the horn functions properly. You can tell what song is being produced even if it's a little too quickly. Now it's a question of how long this product will last, but I'm satisfied with my purchase for the time being. A word of caution: Before installing the entire kit, check your compressor first. Connect everything except the horns as directed, and run the compressor twice: once with the car off, and once with the car fully on. If it works when the car is turned off, it may or may not work when the car is turned on. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: My compressor isn't working right now. During the music loop, a fuse is blown simultaneously. I'll be researching replacement options. The following is a copy of my original review: br>br>The kit was simple to put together; I recommend getting their relay plug and horn kit to make it almost completely plug and play. br>So far, the only issue has been that one of the horns does not sound near the end of the cycle. This, I believe, has something to do with my compressor. It was a little cracked when it arrived, and it's now leaking oil. When driving, the fuse (20 amps) that came with it also blows out before the cycle is completed. That problem should be resolved by purchasing a larger fuse.

With a little tinkering, it'll be perfect! It's quite effective
4/5

The compressor is a little too loud and fast, but they work well in general, with the exception of the horns, which could use some tweaking. Aside from that, the setup is fairly straightforward. The included relay is extremely useful. If the horns are mounted a little further away from the compressor, an extra 10' of tubing is usually required to complete the lengths. Install the compressor so that the tubing outlets are on the top side; otherwise, the internal disc will be subjected to unnecessary stress. Also, as mentioned in previous reviews, lubricate the disc.

Why not? Any vehicle will benefit from this fun addition
5/5

Easy to assemble, but the mounting bolts for the horns and compressor are incredibly short, with only about a quarter of an inch of bolt threads available to use. Get creative or go to the hardware store to get longer bolts. I put the horns inside a cigar box with the compressor on the outside, and instead of using the relay that came with the kit, I just used a rocker switch because it was easier to wire and I could still use my regular horn if necessary. So far, it's been an excellent kit.

Don't squander your money on a bad product
3/5

I had bought this item years ago and had it installed in my truck, so when I saw it again, I jumped at the chance to install it in my current truck. The quality, on the other hand, has deteriorated. There is no such thing as normal. I had to buy hose from Lowe's because the one they gave me was too short. Because there is no wiring or connectors for the wire, it must be returned to Lowe's. Finally, they left out the on/off switch, which you returned to Lowe's. Don't throw your money away.
