The voltage is displayed on an LCD screen (digital accuracy /-) on the device. 1%). If the voltage is within a safe range, the backlight color will change to green or red. A red background indicates that the voltage is either too high or too low for appliances to function safely and efficiently. It is green if the voltage is within safe limits.
This is something we sell and distribute all over the United States. Natural humidity, such as when it's hot outside, is fine; however, if it's in a location where it's getting a lot more water or humidity directed at it, I'd think it should be protected in some way.
A Hughes 30 amp unit is available. It is available through Amazon. On a 50 amp cable, a 30 amp plug will not fit. Bill
The unit measures approximately 2 1/4" wide by 1 1/2" high. It measures voltage by plugging into a standard AC outlet.

This is a fantastic unit. During hurricane season in Alabama, I stayed in the unit for a month and had no problems with it. It was also connected to the bathroom sink's GFI outlet. I'm an electrical engineer, and I don't believe the unit could have been in a more humid environment unless it was placed in a steam bath. It displays the voltage in large numbers with a GREEN background when the voltage is sufficient, and the screen turns RED when the voltage is too low or too high. Both of these issues were caused by my generator, and I was able to shut it down before any of the items plugged in were harmed. My RV refrigerator was saved thanks to it.
It's very easy to operate. Simply plug the device into any outlet to find out what voltage is available.
I used to have a kill a watt but couldn't read it unless I was right in front of it; this is much better and appears to be more accurate.
It's accurate and easy to read in any light. Works exactly as described!.
