A 53k thermometer at 5 degrees F is set at zero degrees F. It doesn't follow a logical path. A digital thermometer, a DMM, and some cooking oil was used to calibrate 45 points. In this case, I was using it for an upcoming project. The GlowShift gauge is not available.
The best way to check your trans temperature is by welding a bung into the pan. There will be lots of disagreements, but overall most people agree this serves their purposes. Long mountain passes saw a spike in the cooler line. A pan sensor reading of 200 indicated that the pressure port had not moved.
NV4500 5 speed is what I put mine in.

I'm sure the Glowshift gauge is calibrated to work with it. If you use it with brand x, you may not get an accurate reading. You would have to check the engine temperature manually and compare it to what the gauge shows. If you have further questions, you might want to contact Glowshift. They'd probably tell you the same thing, though. It could have been better if I had used brand x instead. Hope you have a successful weekend!.
