It comes in packs of 12 inches. The calculations are for short lengths on a 12V line to a device. A 24V line could also be used but the current calculations would be different based on OHM's Law.
If possible, try to replace the previous size with the exact size it was previously. In addition, you may not take a shorter or longer cut than 6", but no more than 9".
This protects a wire that is 4 wire gauges smaller than the wire you are trying to protect. So in theory, this protects a wire that is 6 gauge,

The quality of a product is excellent. I found the price to be a bit high, but it met my needs. In the process of soldering this wire inline, I found it rather difficult. The cable gauge was pretty big, so I needed a third hand. The wire burned a little bit, but under the heat of the furnace it did the job as it should. Putting a crimp on instead of soldering worked almost as well. The residue wiped off and I found a way to prevent melting. It took me a while to finish my project and get my rig operational.
Exactly what I was looking for to replace the high amp alternator on my truck, not available locally in the corner store where I live. It has a diameter of 12 inches and is soldered into an existing larger gauge charge line that runs from the alternator to the positive post of the battery.
The money I spent I thought I was going to get more for. It is overpriced.
