Specifically, it's a tune up kit for the Thunderbolt ignition system. Despite the fact that the 1995 volvo penta engine came with this type of ignition system, the system was not effective. A few of its parts are extremely expensive to replace, and since it is such a robust system, it is very durable. Thus, if your boat has the Thunderbolt ignition, then you are correct. The thunderbolt ignition system is the only ignition system that works with this.
My 1990 Bayliner Capri 2050 cx worked after installing it. It might be a good idea to contact SEI. There might be a Florida connection to them.

Then again, it's not that bad. Hence, I bought an OEM (Quicksilver) set as well as the Sierra set and combined them side by side. The Quicksilver was BETTER quality there is no doubt about it!! The OEM was far superior to the aftermarket for fit and finish! It was not bad at all in the Sierra. You can tell the Quicksilver was manufactured well, as the detailed and quality construction is evident. This is what a rotor looks like. With the Sierra, the contact point is screwed on. It is riveted with the Quicksilver! It makes me "excited" (? perform and how they I wouldn't buy Sierra unless I were on an extremely tight budget, but I might if I couldn't afford it. It is only the small price difference that makes it not worth the hassle. Unless the OEM is unavailable, I will purchase the OEM first.
As far as threading the cap vent is concerned, it did not work. My next step was to chase the threads with a tapping tool. It was particularly noticeable that the screws supplied by the manufacturer went in harder than usual, rather than going in immediately like the Mercruiser screws. As for the Distributor cap, it requires a lot of torque to get it into position, which requires the screws to be pulled When viewed from inside the cap, where it goes over the distributor, there were some very sharp edges. I can't say I'm impressed with the fit of this product. If it were possible to purchase Mercury parts straight away.
The distributor cap of this 1997 5 would not fit my 1997 5 because I have used Sierra aftermarket parts in the past, and they have worked well. While tightening down, I found myself bound to the ID of my 7LX Mercruiser. There was a very slight room for improvement in the ID of the cap It sounds like some manufacturing issues caused it to crack, and if I had pushed it any harder, I'm sure it would have cracked. It also seems like there is a cheaper alternative to the OEM part I would stay away from this. My refund request was approved, and I am exchanging it In this case, I would say the aftermarket part isn't quite up to the original's standards and tolerances.
On first inspection, the metal tab on one of the 8 tabs on the rotor appeared to be bent, but it was not readily apparent. When the distributor was installed, it made a loud clicking noise when it rotated. It was necessary to disassemble the unit and bend the tab into its proper position in order to find out what was wrong with it. Once it was fixed, it worked fine. I dislike having to repair new parts before I can use them.
This seller was given a rating of two stars. ordered 2 kits and got one missing screws, gasket, and vent. It took 3 days for prime shipping and 2 days for first class shipping. My spares worked, so I spent no money. If you look at what's on offer at any marine supply store, you'll find that it's worth the extra money. This book is worth the money (well worth it to me). Very disappointed with Amazon with this book!.
The Bluewater 7 Merc was manufactured in Honestly, this is the first time I have purchased something other than filters that aren't OEM. Aside from the price being half of OEM, we were also pleased with the quality. This kit includes a gasket, four screws, and a My second set is for the port engine, and I have no idea how durable they will be over the long run.
Along with the ignition sensor, this is the perfect replacement for your 96 Bayliner 2050 LS w/Mercrusier In addition to 7 and 8 An ignition system with Thunderbolt technology.
I was very happy to see the package arrive so It is a great seller, but Sierra does not deserve 5 stars since the Rotor (sensor wheel) is made from flimsy stampings over stock ones. Because it was so bad, I decided simply to dress the contact on the stock rotor and use that instead and get by. Although the cap is of good quality and true to size, it does require a little adjustment.
