Getting rid of the tube seals without addressing the valve cover gasket is not recommended.

I think there is a reason, LOL, for not doing so. On the Xterra valve cover, the ones are exactly the same, BUT, and this is a big BUT, they are molded in the cover, and they cannot be removed. As I tried to pull out the old ones, I believed they might be stuck, but I was not correct. A crack appeared on the cover, so I had to go to the Nissan dealer and purchase It costs $50 to purchase a new cover from Nissan. I asked the dealer if they were changeable and he said no, they are part of the product. I had to get the engine done because my engine was in pieces and I couldn't wait for an online order.

This is not the right size

You should buy new valve covers rather than wasting your money on these that do not fit Nissan Maxima.

Would not recommend, I bought the item, but it does not fit my 2005 Nissan Xterra Having already bought another set, I am now forced to purchase another one fit.
