This will work if the 7 inch wire is long enough. I was able to mount it on a 1987 90 HP

The description says the boot is 7", but do you mean from the center to the end of the plug?

Yes, I'm going to agree. There was some error in my measurement. My mercury 80 was able to fit in it. The one on there was 9 inches tall and this one was approximately 2 inches shorter

Excellent quality, does what it's meant to do

It seems to be a pretty good quality product. There was only one complaint I had. On my mercury 25 horses, the spark plug wires needed to be 5 inches and 7 inches long. Because the stem measures from tip to tip, it is a good thing I ordered 2 inches longer than I needed. I would not have been able to use the wires if I ordered the 5 inch and 7 inch lengths.

Exorbitant price for such a small item

I have a 75 Mercury 110 9 and it works very well

A 8hp engine. A bad wire had to be replaced on my 1975 Mercury 110 9. I ordered these to fix it. A 8hp engine. I had to run it for a bit longer than I wanted, but it works well, and spark is now coming from both cylinders. Not a thing to complain about!.

You might want to check the length of the older This is for a 1989 80 hp mercury 3 cylinder

I ordered 3 of these. The center and bottom coils arrived along with the bed, but the top was too short. Therefore I had to send it Please note they are 7 years of age. A distance of 1/4" is measured between the center of the coil connector and the end of the plug boot. These look like good quality products. I will update when I receive the next and can test it.

The performance of this product is good. The prices are a bit high, but it is well Although they are an inch shorter than the originals, that turned out to be an advantage since there is more clearance between the wires. I recommend this to anyone who owns a Mercury outboard engine from Gen 2.
