What if the device works on a scrambker 500? They seem to be similar?

You can use it with any 500cc and 425cc engine as well as 335cc and 450cc

450 wire has two parts, the boot and the wire with the "electronic part". Is the boot part of this separate from the wire, or is it all part of one piece and can it be used on this model?

Assembly comes complete, but it will come apart at the ends. The wire is too short for my taste.

Seven inches are way too short for a 500 Sportmen who was manufactured in 2001

If you need a new long rubber plug end for the head, that part is fine, but other than that it is useless, as the wire is 7 inches too short for Polaris sportsmen 500 ho 2001.

I would like to know what the ohm values should be for both the cap and wire to make this work.

This exactly what I needed, good length, and all I had to do was add some die electric grease to the inside of the cap and the outside of the cap, and it was.
