It's been 13 years since I've owned my Ford Expedition, but it's showing signs of wear, including the fact that the gearshift cap constantly falls off. There was still a shifter but it was very uncomfortable to use due to the exposed end of the knob as well as the overdrive button was easily engaged and disengaged accidentally. The cap was just about to fall off, and after several attempts, I was beyond the point of reusing adhesive or another method to secure the cap, but thought that was a quick fix with potentially long-term consequences. Since the part is supposed to be removable, there could be long-term repercussions. After searching the Ford website and locating the correct part number, I decided to try Amazon for a while, and lo and behold, they had it! The order was simple, shipping was fast, and the item snapped into place easily. It has been in place since installation and does not move.
These are the perfect fit for any Ford F150, F250, or F350 shift lever. A broken one on my 2001 F250 was replaced by a replacement from my 1997 F150 that I ordered to replace the one missing on my 1997 F150. He is one of my co-workers This employee ordered a 1999 Ford F350 with one. The fit is perfect and the price is cheaper than going to a It's best to replace them if and when they break, not to glue them back on. Most of the time, I get at least three years out of them, sometimes longer if the driver abuses them.
It's an original Ford part. Although I would give it five stars for being the real thing, I would give it an additional star for being accessible. There's no way I want to let my beloved old truck go because of a small plastic part. Having this, as well as the overdrive button and shift arm (available separately here on Amazon), makes life so much easier. I prefer to get a genuine Ford part over a clone or aftermarket one whenever I can find it (new old stock or just new).
It is my job to sell aftermarket parts all day long and I don't have much faith A Dorman kit was the cheapest alternative available for this same piece and I was very disappointed with it. As if by magic, the Ford part fit just right. Has yet to break and has matched perfectly. At the moment, the Dorman part makes its way to the trash.
You will need to replace the end cap on your SUV or truck shift lever when replacing this part. Since the original part is designed to fail at some point, many people understand that it will eventually fail. Matte black is used here instead of gloss black as on the original, but that isn't a big deal. With its redesigned design, it seems too unlikely that it will break any more. There is also a good chance that this will It would fit in a 03 Expedition as well and possibly in an Explorer.
Since I was already replacing the turn signal on the other side, I thought I would get two tasks done at the same time for an unbelievable price. Never would have thought I would find this piece and was also looking for the entire gear shift lever. Several months ago I was looking for a lever with an entire lever, and I found this by chance. Thank you so much. I was able to find the exact one I needed and it looks great. I'm glad I could find.
It fits perfectly on a 1999 Expedition EB 4WD. The part was redesigned in a way that you find out only after it is There are no obvious signs of wear on this part, so it could last much longer than my original one. There is a matte finish instead of a shiny one on the original part.
The shipping company says it will not fit a 1995 Ford F-150 The number of attendees was 150. I did cross-reference some, but none of my search terms came up It was referred to by part numbers, so the order went through. It fits very well and is way better than a damaged bezel, which is quite.
