plug is held in place by a catch underneath the cap which prevents it
There usually isn't a need for a pilot hole when using self-tapping screws. It is usually a good idea to drill a 1/16 hole anyway just to keep everything
In terms of the pin type, as long as it is a 7 pin round connector, it doesn't matter because it's just a holder without any "guts" inside, so the short answer to that is yes

An aluminum product like that I used was on one of the old trailers we owned. I kept the trailer plug free of water and dirt thanks to it. To add to my existing trailer, I bought this item. Although it doesn't appear to be as durable as the last, it seems to function the same way. The only way to find out is to wait and see. The installation process is fairly straightforward and the program is easy to use once it has been The plug cover is used to keep water and dirt out of the plug when parked.
My old one was used every year outside on a trailer for 12 years, and I bought this one for my camper. My only issue was to oil the spring on the cap after using it all year round outside. Living in the upper Midwest means being cold and hot at the same time. The product was used as intended. As far as quality is concerned, it provides a squeaky clean and dry plug. This plug has seven poles.
Having trouble understanding the meaning of the word With this product, you can keep your trailer plug out of the way, out of the water, and generally in place the entire time. Great idea, easy to mount and seals the plug in place.
I bought one the first time for a trailer and again for this one this year. As far as protecting the contacts and controlling the wiring go, the device does exactly what it should.
It's a great product for the price. The plastic is heavy, the construction is solid, and the spring on the cover is good. The seven prong hitch wire fits perfectly and I would definitely recommend it.
Using the self-tapping screws that were provided, this plug protector was simple to install on an aluminum frame trailer.
Keeping the trailer plug out of the mud is a great idea- Moreover, it appears to be in good shape. The dielectric grease does the job, I just stuck some in there. You won't have to deal with any hassles!.
It used to be possible to stuff the plug and cable inside the pin box, but now only the cable fits. The mounting ends of the cups were cut off, and I used a #12 sheet metal screw in them. I find this to be very functional.
