Using the 2 in a 2014 Malibu works. If you send me your VIN, I can find out if your engine was designed for the 5 (LKW).

If you want to install this, do you have to drain the oil? It is as simple as removing the 3 x 10mm bolts and cable and installing the new one, or is it more complicated than that?

It is as easy as removing three 10mm bolts, and using some oil to coat the new oil control valve gasket and you are done. 15 minutes should be enough to get the job done.

Are there any gaskets or seals included with this part?

There is a separate gasket that needs to be bought

As the original part I had failed, and had thrown an engine code (P16CF), I needed this part. It appears that this component failed on all Malibu models as every Auto Store (Autozone, Orielly's, Advance Auto), including the one belonging to the dealer, did not have the part available. Even when I bought the part at a cheaper price on Amazon, I got an email saying it was out of stock there too. It was fortunate that what I needed was available to me through you. Because the part is OEM, it fit perfectly when installed. Ordering was simple, delivery was on time, and the part was delivered as promised. As I usually order from Rockauto, I was a bit worried about ordering from them. When I saw that it was a GM part and that the price was a lot better, I decided to get It was fast shipping. I installed the part very easily (I am not a mechanic) and the Engine Light was taken care of.

I am very disappointed with this part. It didn't come complicated as pictured, and it says made in China. It is not the original part. This part came not complicated as depicted in the picture.
