It appears to be just as good as the one that was previously installed. However, the one that was in there when I replaced the old unit was in perfect working order. at all. You might want to try using the old one first before spending the extra money on this because it's a simple enough replacement job. There isn't much to damage the ring because it isn't in a high-heat or high-friction environment.
I did a lot of research and discovered that it was the incorrect size, being too small. I couldn't keep it and had to give it back.
FIT PERFECTLY IN MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER, AND WORKS WELL WITH THE AUTO PARTS PRODIGY THROTTLE BODY.
After a few hundred miles, there were still no leaks, and I was very pleased.
It's a sphere that fits into the groove. Its great.
It was unnecessary.
